BLACK LIVES, BLACK WORDS is a free stage reading of ten minute plays from Chicago black playwrights. This ten minute play series is part of a shared project with Baltimore, Cleveland, Minneapolis and London, England to explore the urban black diaspora experience(s). These cities have had countless reports in the media, all negative, from police brutality to black on black violence but what are the other views and issues most prevalent to those who understand, live and work in the community?
