Transforming Reality: Overcoming the Difficulties and Dilemmas of Creative Writing By Mia McCullough
Transforming Reality by Mia McCullough explores the many challenges of being a writer. Early on in her teaching career, McCullough realized that the best thing she could do for her writing students was show them how to get out of their own way. This book is about navigating the pitfalls, avoiding the self-sabotage, recognizing the rewards, and discovering the tools necessary to sustain a career in creative writing.
Mia McCullough has been writing plays and screenplays for over twenty-five years. Her plays have been seen at theatres around the country including Steppenwolf Theatre and The Goodman Theatre in Chicago, The Old Globe in San Diego, InterAct Theatre in Philadelphia, and Red Fern Theatre in New York City. She has taught playwriting and screenwriting for over fifteen years, teaching adults and high school students through Chicago Dramatists, and undergraduate and graduate students at Northwestern University.
